Bella

Bella lives with her Mummy Alexandra, in Greece. Alexandra says: "She was a gift from my boyfriend during a dark period in my life. She changed my life and gave me back my smile. She's the colour in my life. I call her my sunshine. I can't imagine life without Bella."

Bella was born 6 December 2010. Like most French Bulldogs, Bella doesn't like the heat. The hot summer in Greece is not at all Bella's favourite time of the year. A bad thing happened one summer too, Bella was bitten by a Rottweiler and since then has become aggressive toward other dogs.

Poor Bella. We hope she regains her trust and confidence soon. A brave girl, she will surely come around to feeling comfortable with the presence of other doggies like she was before.
Mummy to work with Bella as a team, slowly but eventually. We wish you both success :)

Bella's mummy loves to dress Bella up but Bella doesn't like it very much. Notice the lovely crystal heart hanging from her collar in this picture. We think it's absolutely gorgeous on mummy's little sunshine. Bella loves ice cubes, chewing on her toys and walks with her mummy.

We are so fortunate to have made friends with Bella and Mummy Alexandra. Thank you for contributing these beautiful pictures of Bella. She's a gem.

'Frenchie Lah!' Gathering at Doggiestyle Cafe

18 May 2013

In all, about 20 Frenchies turned up. A rare sight to behold, it was awesome! We had fun and hope to do this again soon. Thank you 'Frenchie Lah!' for organising this gathering of furry kids and Doggiestyle Cafe for having us. Frenchie love all around!!!

Thank you Celine Tan for this cute assembly of pictures. Big smile from myself and Betty :)

Pets Corner Event 2013

10 March 2013

Sunday morning, it's a fine weather. We went to East Coast Park for a doggy event, a good opportunity to mingle with other doggies. We were very hopeful about spotting other Frenchies.

Daddy and Betty proudly strolling towards the event venue, myself at the back with my phone camera.

No Frenchies in sight. Stalls selling dog food, clothing and accessories for toy dogs, some dog shelter and rescue organisations, etc. Decided to purchase a trolley coin keychain from ASD (Action For Singapore Dogs). The coin can be detached and used in place of the $1 coin that you need, when getting a trolley at the supermarket! Thought that was pretty useful.

We spotted a cute little dog nearby. Owners came by motorbike just as we did!

Here she is, just wandering about. A beautiful Husky and Chow Chow trying to catch their breath. Weather was beginning to get a little hot and humid.

Had a little chit chat with the owners. Lea is a Shih Tzu mix Scottish Terrier. I think she's beautiful. Plus, I happen to like the name 'Lea'.

Daddy and Betty posing for the camera. Weather started to get really humid. Still no other Frenchies in sight.

Just as we were walking back to the motorbike, guess what we saw! A cream coloured Frenchie and a short while later, a brindle one.

Frenchie colours are really lovely, they all look the same but are different at the same time because of their colours. The cream coloured Frenchie is Lilo. She's still growing, very cute. Her pushed in face is simply adorable. Didn't manage to get a shot tho. The brindle is Tyson. He is about the same age as Betty. He's strong!

Really must try and organise a Frenchie Group Walk soon.

Ramp and Tunnel

10 May 2012

We made a trip to the K9 park today. The park is situated at the rooftop corner of Nex Mall's Sky Garden. As usual, Betty could not contain her excitement. (Pet owners can access K9 Park via designated lifts and escalator located at the outside of the mall. Dogs are not allowed in other areas of the mall.)

Up and down the ramp we go!

Through the mystery tunnel.

"They said I might find something interesting at the end." - Curious Betty

Found daddy at the other end. The ball too.

As we left Betty to go about her exploration of the little park, the weather decided to turn even warmer. The blazing hot sun and humidity caused Betty to become breathless very quickly. Her heavy panting was a sure sign for us to find a cool place and recover from the heat.

We decided to pop into Doggiestyle Cafe for some food and drink. We ordered dory fish with vegetables for Betty and a simple chicken salad for ourselves. Didn't manage to take any photos of the food but here's a really nice picture that Daddy took of us.

Had a little chit-chat with the staff in the cafe. They told me the owner of the cafe owned 2 French Bulldogs. Unfortunately the 2 resident dogs of the cafe, Pickles and Tofu weren't around that day. Would have loved to meet them. Pickles, the brindle frenchie, was an abandoned dog, suffering from a bad case of yeast systemic infection. Mutts and Mittens rescued her and slowly nursed her to better health. Pickles was later adopted by the cafe owner who continued to look after her condition. As for Tofu, she was rescued from a pet shop. Another case of bad pet owners. In knowing that both dogs had gone through such unfortunate and painful experiences, I am glad that they are now in the care of responsible and loving dog owners. To find out more about Pickles and Tofu, read their story.

Fast Friends

28 January 2012

A Boston Terrier as neighbour for a week. Hope he doesn't miss her too much. We've missed Betty and we are taking her home.

Smells Fishy

Recently my friend, Toby, gave me a 2.5 gallon tank. Thought I'd put it to good use. Fauna and flora, some fish and nice lighting would sit well in the living room. He gave me some duckweed (floating plant) too. My lampeye killies love to swim just under them, darting about as tho they were playing catch. Myself and hubby also put flame moss in for the gobys to hide.
